A Victorian community hub currently being restored in Silvertown, East London, originally built by Sir Henry Tate in 1887 for sugar factory workers.

This historic building will feature:

  • Enterprise Hub - Collaborative workspace for social enterprises and start-ups
  • Workshop & Event Spaces - Flexible areas for community workshops, meetings, and cultural events
  • Creative Studios - Affordable workspace for artists and makers
  • Community Garden - Outdoor growing spaces and green areas
  • Subsidised Café - Social gathering space with affordable refreshments

Using reclaimed materials, this sustainable, net-zero carbon space combines heritage conservation with cutting-edge sustainability. Part of the ReSpace Alliance network, all spaces operate on proven principles: accessible, collaborative, and designed to "reuse waste, reduce inequality, and rebuild community."

workshop exploring the space through gentle movement and sensory awareness.

About

An invitation to explore the space of the Institute non-verbally through movement and the senses. Facilitated by Dominique, this workshop uses gentle prompts and guidance to encourage participants to slow down and explore the relationships between self and space, and self and others.

The session focuses on movement improvisation and the cultivation of embodied awareness and attention. All welcome and no previous movement experience is required.
