A Victorian community hub currently being restored in Silvertown, East London, originally built by Sir Henry Tate in 1887 for sugar factory workers.
This historic building will feature:
- Enterprise Hub - Collaborative workspace for social enterprises and start-ups
- Workshop & Event Spaces - Flexible areas for community workshops, meetings, and cultural events
- Creative Studios - Affordable workspace for artists and makers
- Community Garden - Outdoor growing spaces and green areas
- Subsidised Café - Social gathering space with affordable refreshments
Using reclaimed materials, this sustainable, net-zero carbon space combines heritage conservation with cutting-edge sustainability. Part of the ReSpace Alliance network, all spaces operate on proven principles: accessible, collaborative, and designed to "reuse waste, reduce inequality, and rebuild community."

🎄 REinsTate Winter Party & Pantomime - Little Bo Peep Gets Shut In!
About
Join the REinsTate community for an evening of fun and laughter at our Winter celebration. This is the first major party since the Tate Institute began its regeneration, honouring the local people, volunteers, and donors bringing this historic asset back to life through community-led regeneration.
The Evening Schedule:
- 17:00: The Party begins! BYOB, food (bring a dish to share, or enjoy what's provided), mince pies, and festive music.
- 19:00 - 20:30: The highlight! Our volunteers and staff invite you to the special community pantomime, Little Bo Peep Gets Shut In!—full of intrigue, abundant silliness, and devastating sheep puns.
- Post-Panto: We carry on the celebration with dancing and live DJs.
By joining us, you are actively contributing to the community-led future of the Tate Institute.
