A Victorian community hub currently being restored in Silvertown, East London, originally built by Sir Henry Tate in 1887 for sugar factory workers.

This historic building will feature:

  • Enterprise Hub - Collaborative workspace for social enterprises and start-ups
  • Workshop & Event Spaces - Flexible areas for community workshops, meetings, and cultural events
  • Creative Studios - Affordable workspace for artists and makers
  • Community Garden - Outdoor growing spaces and green areas
  • Subsidised Café - Social gathering space with affordable refreshments

Using reclaimed materials, this sustainable, net-zero carbon space combines heritage conservation with cutting-edge sustainability. Part of the ReSpace Alliance network, all spaces operate on proven principles: accessible, collaborative, and designed to "reuse waste, reduce inequality, and rebuild community."

Join us at The Tate Institute for a community rewilding morning in partnership with Wild Cities, we are getting together to breathe more life into our streets and you can be part of the change. During the session, @jacks_patch will run a hands-on workshop showing you how to build pollinator pit stops to take home with you. We will also be giving Wythes Road Green some TLC by getting spring bulbs into the ground. Come along to get your hands dirty, enjoy a cuppa and catch up with the community.
