SUMMARY:Bittersweet: History of Tate and Lyle Workers at REinsTate - The Tate Institute
DESCRIPTION:A free discussion session to share stories and map the history of Tate and Lyle workers in our community. Join East London based mixed media artist Marilyn J. Fontaine for a friendly event exploring the history of these workers and the communities connected to sugar in Newham.\nMarilyn creates space for people to reflect\, share personal and collective histories\, and connect them to place\, heritage\, and identity. You do not need any specialist knowledge\, and you do not need to have attended the earlier events. If you have family memories\, stories passed down\, or questions you have always wanted to ask\, bring them along. If you are simply curious\, you are very welcome too.\nThis event is part three of a seven part series called Bittersweet: Legacies of Sugar. It is presented by the Newham African Caribbean Heritage Reference Group in partnership with Museum X\, and funded by the Lyles Local Fund. Come to one\, or come to them all.\nReserve you space here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bittersweet-history-of-tate-lyle-workers-w-marilyn-fontaine-3-of-7-tickets-1991388297003\nQuestions?
